Investment Potential

Hubby seems interested in this investment potential that I have been trying to convince him to support me with. But somehow he seems to have his reservations so I was urging him to read at the United States Gold Bureau site and resource articles so we could learn more together about this investment potential  in gold coins or even possibly in bullion that  is one of the perfect ways to safeguard one’s savings for later use especially when I tell him this would be for our little boy’s future. We need to make a financial decision now that will benefit us later in life. The USGB by the way is a private distributor for precious metals like silver, platinum and gold in the United States.

To My Wishlist

panasonic dmc lumix lx5kThere is something I wish to add to my wishlist and I wish Santa or hubby would grant it this Christmas. It’s a D90, LX3 or better LX5. It’s wishful thinking actually coz if I were to be practical, I wouldn’t buy it yet. I need to save a lot still. I will try not to use my savings to get one of this. But if a generous soul would give one of those to me, I would truly be happy this Christmas.

Thankful

This is a day to be thankful to the Lord for making me busy with work! Being busy for me and my online friends means one thing and that means we have work opportunities here and there. Though I know my other friends have a lot more opportunities than what I have but we are all thankful for these blessings. It lets us pay off our bills and save more as I continue to work hard for our lil boy. May the Lord keep pouring unto us those blessings and we will never tire of thanking and doing them even if it means working on a holiday we would not really mind. For we know this hard work will be rewarded. I am also so thankful to my friends at this kind of work that I do (they know who they are)  for the blessings they share to me and my boys. God bless you more!

I Miss My Mom & Dad

Filed Under (Life, Personal, Thoughts) by tere on 15-08-2010

Whenever I am sick like now, I really miss my mom and dad. I cried myself to sleep last night thinking about them. They would really care for me and make sure I am comfortable and given meds on time. I miss my mom cooking something special for me when I am sick… food for the sick I say. They won’t let me work but insist that I rest. Here I don’t have a sick leave or rest day. There is always work waiting for me.The Christmas tree hubby promised to pack up by himself is still waiting for him. Cleaning the bathroom he said he will do yesterday morning, he didn’t budge until he saw me cleaning it in the afternoon. I might not just think he will do it, but I just have to do it myself. Good thing though he sterilized the lil boy’s milk bottles last night!

Looking Forward: Durian in Davao and Kadayawan Festival 2010

Filed Under (Davao, Personal, Travel) by tere on 15-08-2010

If last week was straight all OT work for hubby because his boss went on leave, at least this week, he is free the whole day unless he spends it sleeping! I look forward to this week because of the week long Kadayawan festivities in the city starting tomorrow until Sunday. Not much activities to go to though but at least I look forward to hunting for fruits! Name it – durian, lanzones, mangosteen, pomelo. These fruits are abundant around the city and they are so affordable these days. You just have to know where to find the cheapest yet delicious in taste fruits. Take note too that the Kadayawan Festival is an annual celebration featuring the durian in Davao City.

We have been buying and eating durian once in awhile from our suki along Torres Street, Davao City. It’s around P40 per kilo. We found out that they also have another “branch” LOL! And it is nearer our place just about 3 minutes away. Plus they introduced us to kanyaw (I am not sure of the spelling) variety said to be from Malaysia and which will be their entry to a contest on durian variety perhaps in the city. I googled for the spelling and found this “Kanyaw durian, Thailand’s best variety, is a light bearer with a thick fleshed, tasty fruit having less of the objectionable odor.” So it’s from Thailand not Malaysia as they told us.

I love this Kanyaw durian variety because it isn’t bitter and it’s delicious. It has more flesh than the native kind. This is good for those tourists in the city who wants to taste durian but doesn’t want the bitter ones. It doesn’t smell so much at all I noticed. But as the local people would believe, the bitter the taste the more delicious and better it is. I believe so and which makes me miss the native durian. But as I said this new variety which we just tasted and discovered recently is a good alternative when choosing the variety.
